I am number four Movie

Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks has hired Director D.J. Caruso to helm the movie I Am Number Four, an upcoming science-fiction movie about young alien teenagers who fled their home planet and come to Earth to escape an enemy species. The film is actually based on a series of books (six in total), written by James Frey and Joby Hughes, that won't be out until Fall 2010. Alex Pettyfer got the lead role as Number 4. The cast also includes Timothy Olyphant, Teresa Palmer, Dianna Agron, Kevin Durand, Callan McAuliffe, and Jake Abel. The film should be released on February 18, 2011.

Here's a blurry first look at Alex Pettyfer in the movie I Am Number Four:
(Click on the picture to enlarge.)
Plot:
"Nine alien teenagers and their guardians flee their home planet named Lorien and come to Earth to escape an enemy species, which follows them to Earth. The enemy species must kill the escaped aliens in sequence. The 'number four', named John Smith (Alex Pettyfer), hides out in Paradise, Ohio, disguised as an American high school student."

Cast:
- Alex Pettyfer as Number Four, an alien teenager
- Timothy Olyphant as Henri, Number Four's guardian and mentor who comes to Earth with him
- Kevin Durand as The Commander who's coming after Pettyfer's character.
- Teresa Palmer as Number Six
- Dianna Agron as Sarah, a girl dating the head jock who falls for Number Four
- Callan McAuliffe is playing Number Four's best friend

The plot of the movie I Am Number Four definitely reminds me of the TV series Roswell... But the book blurb shows some divergence:

I Am Number Four

Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books—but we are real.

Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. we have lived among you without you knowing.

But they know.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They killed them all.

I am Number Four.

I am next.

The First Grader movie review (2011)

The First Grader Posterrelease date : may 13th 2011
synopsis : In a small, remote mountain top primary school in the Kenyan bush, hundreds of children are jostling for a chance for the free education newly promised by the Kenyan government. One new applicant causes astonishment when he knocks on the door of the school. He is Maruge, an old Mau Mau veteran in his eighties, who is desperate to learn to read at this late stage of his life. He fought for the liberation of his country and now feels he must have the chance of an education so long denied—even if it means sitting in a classroom alongside six-year-olds.

Moved by his passionate plea, head teacher Jane Obinchu, supports his struggle to gain admission and together they face fierce opposition from parents and officials who don’t want to waste a precious school place on such an old man.

Full of vitality and humour, the film explores the remarkable relationships Maruge builds with his classmates some eighty years his junior. Through Maruge's journey, we are taken back to the shocking untold story of British colonial rule 50 years earlier where Maruge fought for the freedom of his country, eventually  ending up in the extreme and harsh conditions of the British detention camps.
